Our charity of the month for November is Indspire. Indspire is an organization focused on improving the education of indigenous youth. As a charity, they have been recognized as a Top 10 Canadian Impact Charity 3 years in a row (2017-2019) and was also a Top-Rated charity by Maclean’s in 2019.
They award various financial bursaries and deliver programs and resources with the goal of increasing graduation rates amongst indigenous students. They also have mentorship programs, such as their Rivers to Success program, which focuses on the mentorship of high school students, post-secondary students, and students or youth who are graduating and beginning careers.
Since 2004, Indspire has awarded over 42 000 scholarships, giving over $132 000 000 to indigenous students. Specifically, through their Building Brighter Futures campaign, over 90% of recipients graduate and obtain employment.
